Welcome at Bed & Breakfast De Ruige Weide. The bed and breakfast is situated in a nineteenth century farmhouse just minutes away from the famous 'Heksenwaag' in Oudewater. This is where we live - your hostess Nicole and host Sjacco Schouten - together with our kids, Manouk, Tijs and Daan. An idyllic place we like to introduce to you.
Hospitality with a personal touch
The wish to start a bed and breakfast has grown during our holidays in France. During those stays we visited a lot of different chambre d'hôtes. What attracted us most were the small scale, the personal approach and welcome feeling. These principles are the basis for the foundation of Bed and Breakfast De Ruige Weide!
The Green Heart
Bed & Breakfast De Ruige Weide is situated in the Green Heart of Holland ('Het Groene Hart') where you have lots of possibilities to walk and cycle. The farm is surrounded by a lot of nature, but also by the presence of old-Dutch villages and towns. Only a few kilometres away are the lakes of Reeuwijk, where you can enjoy water sports, fishing and the many beautiful views.
